Set photos: The Other Guys

Posted by Bogdan On November - 16 - 2009

Here’s a collection of various set picture from the buddy cop comedy The Other Guys. The first batch from Neal’s Facebook album are mostly of the set itself with some shots showing Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. In one of the pictures you can see a sample logo on the trailer door which is made like a detective badge but with the movie title inside and the date 2010 at the bottom. The rest of the images can be found in the Facebook album linked by the image below.

A-Team BTS videos

Posted by Bogdan On November - 16 - 2009

ET and Extra are at it again! We have ourselves another look at the set of the A-Team movie adaptation. Both videos are possibly from the same scene which looks to be at an airport. We get some more looks at Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper and Jessica Biel. They also show quick shots of Quinton Jackson in a African type costume and Sharlto Copley wearing a yarmulke. To note also is that Liam Neeson is sporting his original hair color. This is probably a scene where they have to go undercover. Have a look at the videos below and enjoy that second video where they spent more time talking about hair than the film itself!

The Making of The Shining

Posted by Travis On October - 30 - 2009

Halloween is right around the corner, for those of you unfamiliar with this: Halloween is a day when people celebrate their ancestors and holy saints by wearing masks and eating candy (I know it doesn’t make much sense). Anyway to commemorate this Hallows eve, we bring you behind one of the greatest horror films of all time “The Shining”.

It may be the ultimate fly on the wall experience when a director like Stanley Kubrick gives his 17 year old daughter a camera and says “film us making this”. The video below is the full 35 minute documentary directed by Vivian Kubrick from the set of “The Shining”. It’s fascinating to see how somebody like Jack Nicholson acts off set then to see him transform for one of the films most intense scenes.

Check the video out below then tell us what you think.

Avatar BTS clip!

Posted by Bogdan On October - 29 - 2009

While reading a story on SlashFilm’s site, i stumbled on a link for behind the scenes footage of James Cameron’s Avatar. I tried uploading this to YouTube but it won’t let me since it automatically detects what the footage it and disables it. I want to thank Trevor for posting it. His post looks to have vanished now oddly enough. For those who were getting errors while viewing this post, i apologize. There seems to be an error with one of the plugins when i was embbeding the video to the site. For now you can download the video by clicking the link below.

Action trio unite for Expendables scene!

Posted by Bogdan On October - 28 - 2009

Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis will be united on screen for the first time in Stallone’s The Expendables. This past Sunday, the actors finally got together to film their much hyped scene for the film. This was the only missing footage from the film which wrapped filming back in July. Sylvester Stallone wrote and directed the picture staring some of the biggest action stars of past and present. The line up consists of Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Terry Crews, Eric Roberts, Steve Austin, Mickey Rourke, with a cameo by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis. The plot: A team of the world’s most dangerous and highly-trained mercenaries go on a mission to South America to overthrow and assassinate a powerful, evil dictator and his army, who have been causing devastation, chaos and torture for the last twenty years. The Expendables is currently set for release on August 20th, 2010. You can read the article over at the publicist’s blog linked below.

After Arnold, Bruce and Sly went through the scene a couple of times they all 3 headed off to wardrobe and make-up.  at 8:10am with three cameras rolling the biggest action icons of our time went to work.  I thought it was electric in Brazil when all of The Expendables stepped on set – but today was atomic!!!!  the whole crew was mesmerized as we watched the three of them play off of each other in a pivotal scene that sets up the whole movie.  And while I can’t/don’t want to give too much away I can tell you that Arnold’s character is Trench and Bruce is Church, the scene was shot in an empty church without extras and minimal set dec and it has tension and humor – what more can a girl ask for!  Sly was in top form as a director today and was in total command.  Bruce and Arnold were consummate professionals at all times – we got through the scene quickly without compromise.  In 6 hours we did wide shots, close-ups, turned around…the whole nine yards…pretty impressive.  Very Clint Eastwood.

A-Team set picture & video!

Posted by Bogdan On October - 23 - 2009

This is one movie adaptation i’m fairly excited to see come to the big screen. I enjoyed the TV show quite a lot as a kid and even now when they have reruns on the tube i tune in regularly. I’m eager to see what the director and cast bring to the big screen. You’ve got a really interesting cast in Liam Neeson, Sharlto Copley (District 9), Bradley Cooper (Hangover), Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (UFC fighter) and the always beautiful Jessica Biel. This set picture below is from the Iraq set. As you probably know, the Vietnam angle has been updated to the Iraq war instead. Below the photo you can also catch your first look at ET Online’s set visit.

‘Tintin’ wraps

Posted by Travis On March - 16 - 2009

Sorry for the lack of posts over the weekend. This one is a little old but it’s fairly note worthy.

Anyway after 32 days of performance capture work, Steven Spielberg is finished his work of this Tintin film the rest of the work will be handled by Peter Jackson and Weta Digital.

Splashpage explains the duties of, and the working relationship between Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson for ‘Tintin’;

…director Steven Spielberg will hand off the film for post-production duties to producer Peter Jackson (“Lord of the Rings”).

According to Variety, Spielberg’s performance-capture lensing would seem to be the equivalent of principal photography on the film, but the relatively new motion-capture technology in use for the rest of “Tintin” will be handled by Jackson at his special effects studio in New Zealand.

Spielberg will hold the lone directing credit on the film — an interesting note, given that his primary duties last just over a month, while Jackson’s post-production editing, special effects and other responsibilities are expected to take at least 18 months to complete.

Post your thoughts below.
