The 14 month production of The Hobbit films will begin this June, filming in New Zealand. They are still set for December 2011 and December 2012 releases.
The films are being directed by Guillermo del Toro and star a whole new cast, with only Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, Hugo Weaving and Cate Blanchett returning from The Lord of the Rings.
