Ghostbusters 3 in 2011!

Posted by Jack On December - 30 - 2009

There has been a lot of speculation over the third Ghostbusters film over the past few years, and now it appears to be happening. You may remember recently Sigourney Weaver spilling the beans on a possible plot point of Ghostbusters 3. Well, it appears as if that particular story is going ahead, because Harold Ramis has told Heeb that the third film is set for a 2011 release.

Something’s going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We’ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the FutureGB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011

This surely is fantastic news for Ghostbusters fans who should be planning their trips to New York now, that’s if they are filming there.

Justice League still happening?

Posted by Vic On December - 26 - 2009

Well maybe. I remember when I first heard about the planned Justice League movie my first impression was one of pure disappointment. I was at a loss to explain the reason behind WB’s choice to recast all the roles. So when I heard the movie had been placed on hold indefinitly it was cause for joy! Collider recently sat down with Dan Lin, who was to produce the Justice Leauge film. When asked about the film he responded:

“it seems like they’re (Warner Bros.) building to Justice League instead of going with the team movie first and doing individual movies after that.”

It looks like DC is taking a cue from Marvel and is following their approach with The Avengers. He also adds:

“they’re unveiling their DC strategy in January”.

This is great news. I’d rather DC be patient and unroll more individual heroes before jumping into the team picture. I know a lot of people of people don’t think Nolan’s Batman can fit with the Routh’s Superman, but I disagree. Maybe it’s just because I like Routh so much. ( I know, I’m probably the only one.)

He also dropped  little information on Wonder Woman:

“I don’t know. Just as an outside observer I know they talk about it as a movie and also a TV show. I don’t know if they’ve figured out which way to go or is it better to put her in a team movie first and then have her come off that.”

Posted by Jack On December - 22 - 2009

The Dickhouse team are getting back together for the third Jackass film, which will be shot in 3D. Johnny Knoxville recently posted on JackassWorld that they were testing out the new 3D cameras to see if they would actually use them, and it appears as if it’s now going ahead! The movie will begin filming late January and the movie will be directed by Jeff Tremaine, who directed the previous two films.

Johnny Knoxville is excited about the promises of the new 3D equipment.

“We’re going to take the same 3D technology James Cameron used in ‘Avatar’ and stick it up Steve O’s butt. We’re taking stupid to a whole new dimension.”

Jackass 3D will be released by Paramount Pictures in cinemas on October 15, 2010.

‘Spy Kids’ reboot script ready

Posted by Jack On December - 22 - 2009

Robert Rodriguez recently spoke to ComingSoon about some of his upcoming projects, where Spy Kids 4 was mentioned.

ComingSoon: Have you already thought about the next project you’ll be doing?

Rodriguez: I know I owe the Weinsteins another movie and I’ve already turned in the script for “Spy Kids”… another “Spy Kids” which is a reboot of “Spy Kids.” It’s different kids, not the old kids. That one’s really cool. I’ll probably do that in the early part of next year. March or April. And then I do have something for later in the year. I can’t say what that one is.

He added that the Spy Kids reboot would be in 3D, the same 3D that Avatar used.

He also mentioned the current status of Sin City 2, Predators and Madman. Check out the rest of the interview at ComingSoon!

Bond 23 is “shocking”

Posted by Jack On December - 21 - 2009

Peter Morgan, one of the screenwriters for the 23rd James Bond film teased fans about the upcoming movie on the MI6 website.

From July until October this year, Morgan was writing the first draft of Bond 23 – the third outing for Daniel Craig as 007. “It’s a shocking story”, he said after admitting he couldn’t give anything more away.

Being on the 007 team is a new experience for Morgan. “Bond creates a hysteria around it, one that I haven’t previous known”, he said. “It’s a magnet for publicity – everyone wants to know what’s going on with the new Bond”.

However, work on this Bond film has been put on hold until the sale of MGM.

Saved by the Bell Movie?

Posted by Jack On December - 20 - 2009

Pajiba have learned that producer Jonathan Shestack has secured the rights to the 1989 TV show, ‘Saved by the Bell’. His plans are to turn it into a feature film. It’s not going to feature the same cast, as the site tells us:

Is it the reunion episode we’ve all been pining away for? And by all, I mean: Jimmy Fallon’s audience? No. Not exactly. From what I can gather, it’s not a reunion movie. It’s a big-screen feature film “based on” the original ’90s series. What does that mean? Probably an all new cast (and if we’re lucky, cameos from the original stars).

Jeremy Stein and Ginny Brewer are currently on the project, which is open to writers. We’ll let you know how this develops!
