‘Watchmen’ Trial Date Moved Back

Posted by Travis On December - 17 - 2008

The trial date has been pushed back to Jan. 20 making it even closer to the film’s scheduled March 9th.

Judge Gary Allen Feess set the new trial date Monday, noting that he’s required to handle a criminal matter on Jan. 6. He also refused to make a pre-trial summary judgment — as requested by both sides — because, he said, the contracts between Fox and “Watchmen” producer Larry Gordon are so open to interpretation that a trial is required.

Warner Bros. has not backed off a release date of March 6 for “Watchmen,

Posted by Bogdan On December - 15 - 2008

This new poster was spotted over at Coming Soon and released originally by UGO. This thrid outing is a prequel to the previous two installments and stars Rhona Mitra in the lead role while previously Kate Beckinsale played the part.

“Rise of the Lycans” delves into the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires, known as Death Dealers, and the barbaric Lycans (werewolves). A young Lycan, Lucian (Michael Sheen), emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has persecuted them for hundreds of years. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, the beautiful vampire Sonja (Rhona Mitra), in his battle to free the Lycans from their brutal enslavement.

The Crow to get a reboot!

Posted by Bogdan On December - 15 - 2008

It seems the popular thing to do since Batman Begins started the reboot/restart trend of movies, is now to remake films that were popular from the 90’s and below. The Crow is the next on the list but then again the source is a comic book so there’s always exceptions to what is excused to be restarted.

Stephen Norrington has signed on to write and direct a reinvention of The Crow, based on the comic created by James O’Barr, says Variety. Ryan Kavanaugh’s Relativity Media is negotiating with producer Ed Pressman to acquire the film franchise and finance the film.

The Crow is a 1994 American action-thriller film adaptation of the 1989 comic book of the same name by James O’Barr. The film was adapted by David J. Schow and John Shirley, and directed by Alex Proyas.

The Crow stars Brandon Lee, in his final film, as Eric Draven, a rock musician who comes back from the dead to avenge his own murder, as well as that of his fiancée. While filming in the closing weeks of production, Lee was killed when a dummy bullet, which had become lodged in one of the guns, was fired into his abdomen.
