‘JCVD!’ Trailer

Posted by Travis On October - 13 - 2008

JCVD or Jean-Claude Van Damme is a film… which stars (oddly enough) Jean-Claude Van Damme who plays Jean-Claude Van. That’s a lot of Jean-Claude Van Dammes. Seriously this is a new film starring Van Damme as himself in this new film directed by Mabrouk El Mechri. I know it sounds cheesy and major b-movie ego/money driven stuff right? Hold your judgement and watch the trailer, it looks great!

An aging star (possibly a bit of a has been) behind on his taxes deep into a custody battle with his ex-wife makes a desperate attempt to revive his career. It’s an action comedy film that examines stardom and fame.

Watch that trailer and if you have then comment away.

Captain America Plot (maybe)

Posted by Travis On October - 6 - 2008

The plot synopsis of ‘The First Avenger: Captain America’ is now online;

“Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the “Super-Soldier Serum” and bombarded by “vita-rays.” Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and leader of the Avengers.”

Personally, I am very excited about this being a period piece. I think it will add a lot of dimension to the story as well as put it in the time of the original comic.

No word yet on a director or actor to play ‘The First Avenger: Captain America’. The film, however, is set for release on May 6th 2011.

For this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios Hollywood, has put up quite a few billboards and posters advertising ‘The Wolfman’ such as the above.

‘The Wolfman’, directed by Joe Johnston, stars Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving and Emily Blunt. It hits theaters near you April third 2009 (unless you don’t live in North America, Argentina or the UK in which case ‘The Wolfman’ will be hitting a theater near you a tad later in April).

More awesome photos like the one above at Shock til you…

Batman 3 not yet in production

Posted by Travis On October - 2 - 2008

The internet has been awash with rumors about the next Batman film pretty much since ‘The Dark Knight’ opened, at first some said Christopher Nolan was already developing a new film later this rumor was debunked, Nolan had/has not yet started working on a third film. Casting rumors popped up all over; Philip Seymour Hoffman as The Penguin, (he later said “I think I’m more interested in seeing someone else do it. I don’t know if I’d be a good Penguin to be quite honest.”) Johnny Depp as the Riddler. A lot of the rumors surrounding the Batman franchise have been proven to be either partially true, untrue, or just the ramblings of mad men on bathroom stalls.

With that said here is the latest from Warner Brothers (there was a Watchmen related Q&A with Zack Snyder after which there was a reception where Warner Bros. released some interesting info related to Batman as well as a few other projects).

So. According to a representative from Warner Bros. a third Batman film is not in production or going into production as of this moment. Christopher Nolan just got back from vacation and has not yet talked with Warner Bros. about a third film, Batman, or anything yet. Obviously Warner Bros. is very eager to get rolling on a new Batman flick however they are waiting to hear from Christopher Nolan before anything at all happens. So while WB hopes to put a third Batman film into production very soon, any rumors that they have done so already are not true.
