Lionsgate has just released the official theatrical trailer for Oliver Stone’s upcomming ‘W’, which stars Josh Brolin as W, Elizabeth Banks as Laura Bush, James Cromwell as George H Bush, Richard Dreyfuss as Dick Cheney, Thandie Newton as Condoleezza Rice, Jeffrey Wright as General Colin Powell, Toby Jones as Karl Rove, and Ellen Burstyn as Barbara Bush- yeah there’s a lot of talent in this picture! This trailer really does not show us anymore then the teaser released this summer but it’s a lot funnier.
Whatever your political views are there’s no denying the amount of talent involved with this film as well as the many conversations people will have while leaving the theater. Is this fair and balanced? And accurate portrayal of George W Bush? Oliver Stone said he was going for as much accuracy as possible, so is it, well from what we’ve seen so far there clearly going with the more comedic aspects of George Bush’s life however that does not mean that it’s not accurate. But who knows I guess we’ll see on 17 October 2008, which is when the film hits theaters in limited release (it will be opening in more theaters later in October).
